Vegan Applepie

What we will need for one cake (8 servings):

Ingredients

  • 200 g flour
  • 6 g (approx. 1 1/2 tsp) baking powder
  • 4 g vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 80 g raw cane sugar
  • 90 ml sunflower oil
  • 160 ml oat or soy milk
  • 3 green apples approx. 500 g
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • some powdered sugar

Method

Step 1- The dough

  • Combine 200 g flour, 85 g sugar, 4 g vanilla sugar, 6 g baking powder and a pinch of salt in a large bowl.
  • Then add the oat milk and oil and mix until smooth.
  • Grease the baking pan with a little oil.

Step 2- Make strips

  • Spread the dough in the baking pan and preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Peel the apples and cut them into slices of the same size.
  • Sprinkle the apple slices with the cinnamon and place them on the dough, pressing the pieces lightly.

Step 3- Off to the oven

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.
  • Let cool and then dust with a little powdered sugar.

Enjoy!

If you want to cut the apples beforehand, add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. The acid prevents the apples from turning brown.

If you are not sure if the cake is done, just poke it with a wooden toothpick. If something sticks, you still have to have a little patience.
